Lessons learned and twisted ankles.

Trundling towards the end of January always seems like such an uphill struggle (even more so with a enormous ankle support boot on!) The weather is grim and there is mud everywhere. I really hate mud. Come to think of it, I really hate freezing wellies and chilblains too which are a result of both of the former.
On the plus side, January, when you can get out into nature, can be very beautiful and it is a good excuse for our students to practise creative writing with a picture stimulus.

What could we say about these beauties?

Alliteration and metaphor abound in both and we could write about many of the senses in both images. How does that freezing nose actually feel?
If we were writing a narrative piece, it could be an adventure:

yetis /the mastering the dubious art of skiing/meeting an otherworldly being in the mountains, or a disaster (losing your snowboard /skis /flying down a snowy mountain/avalanche.)
The choice is yours !
At SC Tuition we believe strongly in the importance of imagination and creativity and actively encourage both of these attributes, because life is not just about academics. It is vital to our children that they use and develop both - not just for fun, but to dream of things to come and to figure out creative ways to achieve their goals.
We are close to full capacity for English Language and Literature this term, but are already taking bookings for May; for other students who are not preparing for GCSEs this summer. Our tutors for mathematics have some availability - please contact us for more information on this.
Happy January everyone.
See you all soon.
With love...
Sarah C.
